Physical chemistry

  1. Ionic equilibrium (all expect common  ion effect ,  solubility and solubility product principle )
  2. Volumetric  analysis ( all expect choice of indicator , titration curve)

Metal

  1. Transitional elements.
  2. Iron ( extraction of iron, properties , types of iron , manufacture of steel ( both) )

Syllabus for first term exam for grade XI

Atomic structure :- Rutherford atomic model ( Experimentation, observation , conclusion , model and limitation ),  Postulates of Bohr’s atomic model.

Gas law :- Boyle’s law, Charle’s law, Combined gas equation and its related problems , Ideal gas equation and the value of R.

Periodic table :- Mendeleev’s   periodic table , Modern periodic table ( expect atomic properties)

Electronic theory of  Valency ;- Postulates of ETV , ionic bond , covalent bond , Lewis dot structure , Ionic compound , Covalent compound and co-ordinate covalent compound ( SO2 , SO3 and O3 Only).

Oxidation and Reduction :- Classical concept, Electronic concept, Oxidation no. concept, Determination of oxidation number, difference between O.N. and valency , Redox reaction and balancing of redox reaction by O.N. method ( Molecular form only)

Mole concept ;- Chemical equation , types of reaction , balancing of chemical reaction by partial method, At. No. ,mass no. , At. Weight , average atomic weight , a.m.u , absolute value of a.m.u.

Inorganic Chemistry :- Allotropes of Sulphur, Lab. Preparation of H2S and its chemical properties and it’s application, Lab. Preparation of SO2 only.

Organic chemistry :-  Definition of organic compound with examples, Homologous series and function groups.
