Dr. Rajeev Chhetri rekindles his association with National School of Sciences (NSS) for a second stint, bringing along a long–standing experience of over two decades as an academician and academic administrator in reputed educational institutions of the Kathmandu Valley.
Dr. Chhetri started his career from NSS as a young faculty in 1998, and was associated with NSS till 2007 as the Programme Coordinator of the Science Stream. In 2008, he joined GEMS Institute of Higher Education, the higher education wing of GEMS School, as the Academic Head, responsible for leading the academic programmes of the Higher Secondary (Plus 2), A – Level and BS–MD (Bachelor of Science leading to a degree in Doctor of Medicine), a binary programme with Angeles University Foundation, the Philippines. Thereafter, he was associated as the Academic Director of Golden Gate International College, Liverpool International College and Patan College for Professional Studies (the academic partner of the University of Bedfordshire, U.K. in Nepal). More recently, he has completed his tenure as the Principal at Kathmandu World School, Gundu, Bhaktapur.
As the head of academic programmes in the different institutions he worked with, Dr. Chhetri has functioned effectively as the principal architect in planning, executing and monitoring day-to-day operations, in addition to formulating, recommending and implementing new policies to promote progressive education in line with the needs of today’s students. Dr. Chhetri has joined as the Principal of NSS. In addition, he also serves as the Director of Academics for the academic programmes under the NIST Foundation. He earned his Doctorate Degree in Environmental Sciences from Kathmandu University, Nepal in 2010, and his Undergraduate and Postgraduate Degree in Biological Sciences from Sri Sathya Sai University, India. He has published several scientific articles in the national and the international journals related to the core area of his research – Ethnobotany.
